ROVERDRIVE GEAR CORPORATION is a manufacturing company based in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
In our dedicated facility, on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, we manufacture the ROVERDRIVE overdrive that is fitted to Land Rover vehicles. We export our product to virtually every country where Land Rovers are used.
ROVERDRIVES are fitted to both Series and Defender models of Land Rover. The ROVERDRIVE adds an optional range of gear ratios to the Land Rover making it quieter and more economical to drive.
The ROVERDRIVE installs on the Land Rover in under two hours using simple hand tools and can be used to reduce engine RPM in any gear.
At highway speeds your Land Rover will lope along, with engine RPMs reduced by 28%, saving fuel, reducing drive train wear and resulting in a much quieter more relaxed driving. The units are virtually silent in operation.
The ROVERDRIVE is a rugged bit of equipment. It is designed in the tradition that makes Series and Defender Land Rovers the workhorses of the 4 x 4 world. The ROVERDRIVE unit has no complicated electrical or electronic components. There are no clutches to slip. Oil is shared with the vehicle’s transfer case so there is no separate oil filler and there are no dynamic oil seals.
In the process of developing these units we have driven our own ROVERDRIVE equipped Land Rovers, with confidence, over vast distances in Africa, Australia, Europe and North America. Before we sold the first ROVERDRIVE we satisfied ourselves that our simple epicyclical gear design was virtually indestructible.
